Dublin Castle

|

This impressive castle was founded by the order of King John, the first Lord of Ireland in 1204. It is said that the castle has gone through many rebuilding and modifications that the only thing that is left untouched is the Norman Tower. The castle finally saw its full completion in the early 17th century. The famous theft of the Irish Crown Jewels took place here in 1907. Local Irish patriots look high upon their Dublin Castle for it is here in 6th of December 1921 that the Anglo-Irish Treaty was signed ending 700 years of colonization. The Republic of Ireland was born here!

If you are passionate about ancient histories and past cultures, this is the best place in Dublin other than the local museums that you could put your hands on. We have enjoyed ourselves here and hope that you would too one day. Bring along your cameras and digital cams for there are simply too many things that you could possibly capture here.
