Guinness Storehouse! Dublin’s top tourist spot is a beer brewery?

|

It’s true. The most popular tourist spot in Dublin Ireland happens to be a storehouse and one time ago the fermentation processing centre for Guinness! Dubliners consider Guinness Storehouse as the heart and soul of Dublin. It is a seven storey building located at the heart of St James’s Gate Brewery. It was commercialized for the tourism industry and opened to the public in November 2000 and by far has attracted more than 4 million tourists from all around the world.

The 7 storey building itself is an adventures waiting to be explored. Each floor has a unique attraction for visitors and many spent their whole day there without realizing it! On the ground floor, visitors can see for themselves a massive exhibit of four major ingredients that when combined would make that world famous pint. On the 1st floor, you can learn more about Guinness’s brewing process. You can even see their Tasting lab and Transportation exhibit. The 2nd floor meanwhile houses Guinness’s advertising history. The 3rd floor is more towards educating the visitors on good drinking habits. Not recommended for heavy drinkers. The 4th floor showcases the building rich history from the year 1904 to 2000. If you are dead hungry, you can always go up one level to the 5th floor and pamper yourself to a variety of traditional Irish cuisine that use Guinness as part of the ingredient! Last but not least, you can now take a big break from all those walking and enjoy yourself to Guinness complimentary pint on the 7th floor. Don’t know why they called it the Gravity Bar but the view is fantastic. You can see the whole Dublin from up here and it is simply breathtaking!

It is open 7 days a week from 0930 to 1700 hours and admission is totally free for heavy drinkers. :) Gotcha! Do you really think Guinness would close their eyes and miss this great opportunity to snatch all that money from the pockets of heavy drinkers? Admission rates vary for senior citizens, adults, students and family groups.
